Connecting Stripe to receive payments

To sell paid products on Klixey, you need to connect a Stripe account to your workspace. Stripe is what actually moves money — Klixey hands every payment off to Stripe, then listens for the result.

Quick answer

Open Workspace settings → Payments, click Connect Stripe, and sign in (or sign up) on Stripe. You'll be sent back to Klixey with your account connected. From that moment, paid checkout pages on your storefront start working.

Who can connect Stripe

Only the workspace owner can connect or disconnect Stripe. Admins, editors, and viewers see the status of the connection but can't change it. This is intentional — payouts go to a real bank account, so the call sits with the workspace owner.

If you were invited to a workspace as an admin and you don't see the Connect Stripe button, ask the owner to do it.

How to connect

  1. Open Workspace settings → Payments.
  2. Click Connect Stripe.
  3. You're sent to Stripe. Sign in with an existing Stripe account, or create one — Stripe walks you through it.
  4. Stripe asks for business details (name, address, tax info) and a bank account for payouts.
  5. Once you finish, Stripe sends you back to Klixey. The Payments page now shows Connected.

Stripe's onboarding is yours, not ours

Klixey doesn't see the personal or banking details you give Stripe — that's between you and Stripe. We only get told whether your account is connected and whether it can accept charges.

The connection status indicator

The Payments page shows one of three states:

StatusWhat it meansWhat to do
ConnectedStripe is ready, you can accept paymentsNothing — you're live
IncompleteYou started Stripe onboarding but didn't finishClick Continue setup to finish in Stripe
Not connectedNo Stripe account is linkedClick Connect Stripe

If your storefront's paid checkout pages stop working, your Stripe status is the first thing to check.

One Stripe account per workspace

A Stripe account can only be connected to one Klixey workspace at a time. If you try to connect a Stripe account that's already linked elsewhere, you'll see an error explaining the conflict.

If you have two Klixey workspaces (say, two brands), you'll need a separate Stripe account for each one. Stripe lets you create more than one account under the same login.

If your connection breaks

A connection can show as Not connected if:

  • You disconnected the account from inside Stripe.
  • Stripe restricted the account (usually for compliance reasons — they'll email you).
  • You revoked Klixey's access in your Stripe dashboard.

When this happens, your storefront's paid checkout pages will refuse to load until you reconnect. Free products keep working — those don't go through Stripe.

To fix it, open Workspace settings → Payments and click Connect Stripe again. You'll usually land back in the same Stripe account; you can also pick a different one.

What goes through Stripe

Stripe handles every part of the money path:

  • Card processing. Buyers enter their card on your checkout page; Stripe charges it.
  • Bank verification. When a buyer's bank asks for a second confirmation, Stripe handles the prompt. See bank verification.
  • Refunds. Issued from your Stripe dashboard. Klixey reacts to the refund automatically — see refunds, failed payments, and disputes.
  • Disputes (chargebacks). Stripe holds the funds and lets you respond with evidence.
  • Receipts. Stripe emails the buyer a receipt directly after every successful charge. That's separate from the access emails Klixey sends.
  • Payouts. Stripe transfers your money to your bank on whatever schedule you set in Stripe.

Supported currencies

You pick one currency for your workspace. Buyers see prices, pay, and you get paid out in that currency. Klixey supports five today: USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD.

See currencies for the full list, how the currency is set per workspace, and what happens if a customer pays with a card in a different currency.

What buyers see

After paying, buyers get two emails:

  • A receipt from Stripe (their card statement reference, the line item, the amount).
  • A confirmation from your store (their access link, what they bought, your branding).

Both are normal. The Stripe receipt is hosted by Stripe — buyers can pull receipts from earlier purchases inside their customer portal too.

What you see

Inside Klixey, every payment appears on the Income page with a status badge (succeeded, pending, failed, refunded). The customer's record also shows their full payment history. For the actual payout schedule, fees breakdown, and tax summaries, head to your Stripe dashboard.
