Inviting team members

Bring people into your workspace so they can help build the store, manage customers, or just keep an eye on what's live. Only the workspace Owner and Admins can invite — Editors and Viewers can't.

Quick answer

Open Workspace settings → Team, click Invite member, enter their email, and pick a role (Admin, Editor, or Viewer). They get an email with a link to accept. They appear as Pending in your team list until they do.

Who can invite whom

The role you have decides which roles you can invite:

Editor / Viewer

You can't invite someone as Owner — there's exactly one Owner per workspace, set when the workspace was created. See Roles & permissions for the full breakdown of what each role can do.

Sending an invitation

  1. From the top-right of the app, open Workspace settings → Team.
  2. Click Invite member.
  3. Enter the person's email address. Email casing doesn't matter — [email protected] and [email protected] are treated as the same person.
  4. Pick a role: Admin, Editor, or Viewer.
  5. Click Send invitation.

That's it. The new entry appears at the top of your Pending invitations table.

Not sure which role to pick?

Editor is the right choice for most collaborators — they can build the store, ship products, manage customers, and pull income reports. Admin is for trusted operators who also need to change workspace settings or manage the team. Viewer is read-only — useful for stakeholders who just want to see what's live.

What the invitee sees

Klixey sends them an email with your workspace name, the role you chose, and a link to respond. When they click it, they land on an acceptance page where they can either:

  • Sign in with their existing Klixey account and accept, or
  • Create a new account in two fields (name + password) — their email is already filled in.

They don't need their own Klixey plan to join your workspace. Team members sit on your plan. See Accepting a team invitation for the full recipient experience.

What "pending" means

A pending invitation has been sent but not yet accepted. While pending:

  • The person doesn't have a role in your workspace yet and can't see anything.
  • The invitation counts against your plan's team-member ceiling — so a pending invite occupies a seat the same as an accepted one. Cancel the invite if you change your mind and want to free the seat.
  • The invitation expires after 7 days. After that, the link stops working and the invitee sees an expired notice. You can resend or cancel at any time from the pending table — see Managing your team.

When the person accepts, you get an email notification (and so does the Admin who sent the invite, if it wasn't you).

Rules and limits

A few invitations will be rejected with a clear message:

SituationWhy it's blocked
You enter your own emailYou can't invite yourself.
You enter the Owner's emailThe Owner already has the workspace.
The email belongs to an existing team memberThey're already in.

Re-inviting the same email later is fine — once the pending or accepted record is gone, you can send a fresh invitation without any manual cleanup.
